NWU received $12 million in 2019 from NIH, as part of the Illinois Precision Medicine Consortium's inclusion in the "All of Us" research program. Congress has authorized $1.4 billion over 10 years for the NIH-led program, which will serve as a national research resource for a variety of health conditions by gathering data from 1 million volunteer participants.
Northwestern University was awarded $11.5 million from the National Cancer Institute in 2019, to advance translational research for patients with brain cancer.
Northwestern University received $5.8 million from the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive Kidney Diseases in 2018, to further research into treatment and prevention of kidney diseases.
