  • Researchers at NCSU received a five-year $7.4M grant in 2020 from the NIH, to establish a Center for Environmental and Human Health Effects of Per-and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS).  The Center will study PFAS toxicity, bioaccumulation, and effective remediation strategies.
  • The Center for Human Health and the Environment at NCSU received $1.5M in 2020 from the NIH, to study how human health is impacted by environmental factors, and to implement solutions to prevent and/or reduce the adverse impacts of environmental factors on human health.  The Center has received $7.6M in funding since 2015.
  • Researchers at NCSU received a five-year $1.8M grant in 2020 from the NIH, to study the interactions between the microbial community in the human gut, the proteins those microbes eat, and how the interactions affect human health.
