A nearly $30 million grant from the NIH will fund research by UC College of Medicine’s Department of Emergency Medicine to examine the effectiveness of combination therapies implementing tissue plasminogen activator.

  • 2017 NIH Funding: $62,109,922

  • Plans for a new Neuroscience Institute facility at the University of Cincinnati are in the works thanks to a $14 million philanthropic donation to enhance research efforts towards chronic and progressive neurologic disorders like Parkinson’s disease.

  • The Cincinnati Center for Clinical and Translational Sciences and Training has received $3.5 million in NIH funding in 2018 and $14.8 million since 2015.

  • The Center for Environmental Genetics at UC received $3.5 million in 2018 for gene-environment interaction research and translation.
