  • 2016 NIH Funding: $87,775,673
  • University of Arizona has been awarded $43.3 million over five years to develop methods for specialized medical treatment. This grant is part of NIH's Precision Medicine Initiative Cohort Program. 
  • The UA Cancer Center was awarded a five-year, $17.6 million Cancer Center Support Grant.
  • A $11.4 million, five-year, program project grant was given to UA investigators for cutting-edge research on the genetic basis of acute respiratory distress syndrome and ventilator-induced lung injury. 
  • $7 million was awarded to UA researchers to conduct a five-year study on the use of genetic mediators to reduce lung inflammation and attacks in asthma patients.
