Biotechnology Calendar, Inc. offers attending exhibitor loading and unload help on the day of the event. This "concierge service" is provided at no additional charge to the exhibitors and is provided, in part, so that exhibitors can focus on their presentation and not have to worry about getting stains, tears, injuries, or..gasp.. sweaty before a day of heavy duty sales and networking.
Describe what is meant by Concierge Service: We provide laboratory supply and service companies that are exhibiting at our events with loading help before the show and re-loading help after the show. We provide this service since we believe that the attending sales representative needs to look (and smell) great and that that it is our job to make their job as easy as possible. Sales representatives need to set up their own displays but we help get their materials from their cars to their displays, so they can focus on what they do best. We ensure there is staff on hand to help you move your exhibition items from your car to the table and from table back to car. This helps with issues such as injuries, stress, wardrobe malfunctions, and time management.
What is included? We provide on site temporary assistance help the sales representatives remove equipment and literature from his/her vehicle and transport it to your company's product display and demonstration area. At that point the lab supply representatives will unpack and set up the company display.
What is not included? Because we often contract our labor locally, there are some restrictions on what we can offer to assist your company sales rep with, including:
- parking the car,
- unpacking lab supplier boxes,
- setting up display tables prior to the event
- taking down and packing up the the display after the event.
How does this benefit the exhibitor? Exhibitors needn't worry about carrying equipment and supplies from the unloading area; they can walk in to their table, have everything ready and just focus on setting up the table and preparing for the event. Sometimes exhibitors say it's ok; they will bring the stuff to the table themselves. But at the end of the show, they are very happy that they don't have to lug their things back to the car.
How does this benefit the researcher? Exhibitors are more prepared when the researchers arrive. The sales representatives are in a happier, more conversational mood and less distracted and stressed. Sales representatives are also happy to bring all of the materials they need since they know they will have help both coming in and going out. This means that they typically have more information and product samples on hand to provide the researchers with.
What is the estimated value of this item for Biotechnology Vendor Showcase™ (BVS), BioResearch Product Faire™ (BRPF), Front Line™ series: For the larger shows the value of the concierge service is approximately $300-$500 depending on the size, weight and number of boxes.
What does it take for us to provide this item for the exhibitors/what do we do to make this happen? We arrange for our dedicated staff to be there for the unloading and loading process with proper equipment. We work with the campus to secure the unloading area so no problems will come up (i.e. ticketing) and plan before, during, and after the event so that everything goes according to plan.
